Friday’s Hunt March 19

I’ve been all about Spring this past week.
I refuse to let the weather (that has been very un-Spring-like) get me down.
Spring.
Spring.
Spring.
1 more day to Spring!!

For today, though, I’ve got my offering for the Friday’s Hunt hosted by Teresa at Eden Hills.
Prompts this week are Starts with K, Week’s Favorite and Drink.

Starts with K

Kitty!

Daisy Mae

She was only supposed to be a temporary indoor kitty, but the little pooh-stick turned into a permanent indoor resident.
It’s okay though…this girlie has personality to spare, and loves to talk up a storm. Here I caught her in the midst of talking to the trees and grass blowing about in the wind.

Week’s Favorite

My Old Man Odhinn…

Pretty Kitty ❤

14 years old, with a myriad of health issues, but still my main snuggle Kitty at night. Such a handsome boy! ❤

Drink

Heh. Lifeblood of the Universe…

Mmmmm, coffee!

Can’t start the day with out a good, steaming hot cup of coffee. 🙂

1 day, folks…
1 more day to Spring.

Friday’s Hunt March 12

Well now, I’m rather proud of myself.
I’ve made it all the way to “J”…and then I thought I was going to fail this week, because really, J? What the heck was I going to do as a photo prompt for J?

As it turns out, I have the perfect image for J…
And, it’s because this little numpkin is such a Jerk!

Fancy Nancy in chair jail.

He’s pretty, he’s adorable, and he knows it.
He also likes to sing in my face at night while I’m trying to sleep. If I don’t wake up enough to acknowledge him, he tries to eat my hair…or he sticks his butt in my face.
I love the little ass, but he is such a jerk.
LOL!

Week’s Favorite this week comes from a quick shoot with the Girls yesterday…

Astrid herself isn’t as crisp and clear as I’d like her to be (I had a condensation spot on the filter) but I couldn’t resist this pose. ❤
She looks so lovely!

My final image is for wings…because I didn’t have a new bird picture, but this guy was hanging around the pasture yesterday…mighta been looking for an equine meal. We all know how they love a good horsie snack. 😉

Stay away from my ponies you two-headed devil, you!! 😡

Friday’s Hunt March 5th

Busy, busy week.
Had a Palomino with an upset tummy, me with a raging cold that put me down for a few days, and lots of work to get done.
Ah, well, no rest for the wicked, right? 😉

Aside from today…today was another hay run. Hopefully just one more. Spring is in the air, folks. I can smell it!
And then, I indulged in a bit of day drinking…because sometimes you have to. Or, at least, I do.
LOL

This week’s prompts for Friday’s Hunt hosted by Teresa at Eden Hills are Starts with I, Week’s Favorite and Nose.
Shall we?

Starts with I

These are my idiots…
There are many like them, but these ones are mine…
(bonus points awarded to anyone who knows what I am referencing with that 😉 )

Taken through the kitchen window, while they were goofing off...on the drift, of course.

I love taking picture of Showby (that Haffie above). She knows she’s gorgeous, and she knows how to work the camera!

Nose

Caught Sable while she was napping too… ❤

Friday’s Hunt Feb. 26

This week’s Friday’s Hunt hosted by Teresa at Eden Hills had a prompt that had me stumped. I had never heard of “Chiaroscuro” before.
Ever the curious human, and always looking for a photography challenge, I googled the term.

“Chiaroscuro” is an oil painting technique that uses strong tonal contrasts between light and dark, to create a dramatic effect.

Ahhh!! Yes, I can do this…and it was the perfect prompt for something I had been wanting to try with the Girls.
And so, here’s my offerings for this week’s Friday’s Hunt…

Starts with H

Heh. Horses. What else?

It's my Peanut Gallery!

It’s my Peanut Gallery!

Hubby was working on trying to convince Ruby that walking into the shelter on the lead rope was an easy thing for her to do. These 2 were watching (and probably laughing at) Ruby acting like she was going to die if she went into the scary black place. LOL!

Two words for this horse when she poses…

Rock.
Star.

She is absolutely perfect.

Friday’s Hunt Feb. 19th

What a lovely week of weather we’ve had!
It’s hard to believe it’s February. Yesterday we hit an amazing +6*c.
Sooooo nice!

The horses have been happily basking in the sunshine and the hennys have loved every second of outdoor time they’ve gotten. My birds are spoiled, they do not like to get cold, so when it’s below -15*c, I leave them in the coop. But this warmth? They’re loving boking ’round the chicken yard, snow drifts and all.

This week’s prompts are Starts with G, Week’s Favorite and Pink.
And here’s my images…

Starts with G

Who else could possibly be used for the letter G, other than my Ghost?

<3

My big, sweet, supposedly feral, TomCat.
The Kid and I worked hard on gaining this guy’s trust, and now, he’s the best barn cat ever. Even when he follows me around the Farm yard yapping up a storm. 😉

Week’s Favorite

Well, you saw that image the other day:

I love this shot so much...feral or friendly Palomino?!?

I love this shot so much…feral or friendly Palomino?!?

Definitely my favorite shot of the week.

Pink

This one is a close second though…just shot fresh this morning, with the help of The Kid.

pink-mintsMs Cookie lipping up pink mints from The Kid’s hand.
And, a huge thank you to everyone who’s been asking about her, offering wishes of good health and been checking up on us.
Thankfully, my big donkey is back to her normal, delightful self..
Eating her beet pulp happily, and scrapping with Astrid again.

Embrace the Chaos!

I’ve come to the conclusion that will be my theme for all 2017 photo shoots.

Embrace the Chaos

My attempts at calm, serene, ethereal images (much like other equine photographers capture) have gone far awry.
Y’know, for a while I was frustrated with it…but then, I thought, that’s life here. We’re not calm, serene, ethereal people, nor are our animals.
So, when I went out today to attempt some sort of heart themed photo shoot (because V-Day is coming and even though we don’t acknowledge it, I do like a themed photo shoot) and it didn’t work out like I had hoped (a horse with a thick winter coat won’t show a trimmed pattern unless you shave it into their coat. Trust me, shaving Cookie in any way ain’t gonna happen!!) I fell back on Embrace the Chaos and just took pictures…and then gave the camera to my Kid, who took 2 of today’s images.

Here we are, my offerings for Friday’s Hunt hosted by Teresa at Eden Hills

Starts with F

Today was a day of feet!
It was Sable’s turn to get a trim, and she was making sure Hubby did it right:

"Make sure it looks good too, Dad!" ~Sable

“Make sure it looks good too, Dad!”
~Sable

She has a thing for watching her feet being done.
She does it with Hubby.
She does it with Michele.
It’s a Bella thing. 😉

My Kid captured my Girl and I in a moment.

Heart

So, I wanted to cut out a heart pattern on her rump, like a My Little Pony cutie mark…didn’t work. At. All.
Lipstick on her forehead last year was much better.
Maybe I’ll do that again tomorrow…we’ll see.
Instead my Kid captured this:

Me and my SweetHeart

Me and my SweetHeart

That’ll do for heart, I believe. 🙂

I Made it to “E”

Not too bad.
I’m 1/5th(ish) the way through the alphabet. Might make it to the end yet. 😉

This week’s prompts are Starts with E, Week’s Favorite, and Personal.

Starts with E

Who better than Erik the Viking?

Erik!!

Erik!!

He’s Nancy’s brother…the one who stayed outside. You can tell he’s a Ghost baby because of those eyes. Ghost throws babies with the same yellow eyes he has. ❤

Erik earned his name being a ‘fraidy cat.
To be fair, when his Mama left his siblings (Nancy, Robin, Suzie(used to be Sophie) and Baby) we didn’t know Erik had survived.
It was a huge surprise when he and his brother Thorfinn showed up out of nowhere.
First few times we caught Erik (and keep in mind, he was maybe 6 months old) he pooped himself. Flat out dropped a cat load.
I decided he needed a good, fierce warrior name to overcome the shame of crapping his cat pants.
He became Erik the Viking.
And yes, I use his full name when I call him. 😉
Just so he remembers his fierceness.

Week’s Favorite

Silly Palomino!

Silly Palomino!

That’s our long-necked Blonde Girl…head over the fence to lick snow on the other side. Why? Just because she can.

Personal

My personal favorite this week comes from another sunset shoot.
