In trying to make sure I stay on top of this photography challenge thing, and because the light, the horses and the hoar frost was gorgeous this morning, I went out with the camera to take some pictures.
Plus, I’m on a daily streak here on WordPress and I kinda want to keep that going too…so I needed some new pictures.
So I’m out there shooting.
The Merry Mares are sure I’ve got treats for them, so they make their way across the pasture, from the far east fence line, over to me. But along the way, Ruby gets distracted by something.
I’m shooting the whole time, so I capture her doing this:
Aaaaaand I start yelling at her and running towards the gate, with the dog right on my heels.
Thankfully, we get there in time, I grab the bag, Daphne lunges up with a bark and Ruby lets go while flinging her head up.
Then, I had to stick my hand in her stupid mouth to make sure I got all the plastic.
But thankfully, there wasn’t any in there…and the bag seemed fairly well intact when I had the chance to take a good look at it.
Ahh, that’s our Ruby…making life interesting every chance she gets.
She really is like a toddler who has to put everything they shouldn’t into their mouth.
My tidbit of wisdom for horse owners here is this…
After those ridiculously windy days, take the time to wander out to your pastures and see if there’s any junk in them.
Because you never know when the horse will take it upon themselves to eat the evidence.
Like my idiot tried to!
