Another Foundling…

This is the 2nd cat we’ve had dropped on our property in the last 2 weeks. Frustrating, because I know people are just driving around looking for somewhere to dump them. Grrrr!! Here’s the thing folks…just because I have all this land, doesn’t mean I want your responsibility. If you took this animal, for whatever reason, you are responsible for it! Decided you can’t take care of it? For heaven’s sake, there are shelters you can leave them at…even out in the country! Don’t just drop it on the side of a gravel road, thinking “someone will look after it”. Not everyone is like me. Not everyone is willing to take in a dropped animal and make sure it’s safe.

Me, I’m a sucker. She cried and cried, and purred and snuggled into my jacket when we found her…at 1:30 in the morning, trying to jump into the kitchen window.
*sigh*
Some people suck.

Poor baby is so skinny, and hasn't even started her winter coat yet. So we know, she was someone's indoor kitten.

We checked for an ear tattoo, but nothing. We’ve named her Heidi, and she’s moved into the garage with Max, Spooky and Fiona. Max ignores her, Spooky beats on her in a kitteny way, and well, who knows what Fiona thinks? We hardly ever see her. 🙂

Talk to a rescue operation, the local shelter, and/or a vet clinic about discounted or free neuters. All the clinics I worked for had deals worked out with rescue people/organizations.
Montréal has a kick-ass catch-neuter-release program that works to decrease the substantial increase in feral cats by supporting neutered ferals in place. Maybe in your voluminous free time (joke) you can start one there.

Yep. That’s usually how it works.
